November Glossybox 2013

Hey everyone, this Glossybox I thought that I would do things a little bit different. I have created a video on Youtube showing you what goodies I received in this months box. It was supposed to be an unboxing video, however I made the video to find that my camera was not recording, which was a bit disappointing! Never mind I remade a video showing what I got this month and have uploaded it to my Youtube channel, LibbyGillard1996 (creative name, I know). Find below the video, please don't judge to harshly as this is my first try at creating a Youtube video. Hope you enjoy!

In this box I received:

1. Vichy - Idealia Life Serum:
    Full Price - £29.50
Sample Price - £3.00 (estimated price)

2. Emite Make Up - Micronized Eyeshadow Dams
    Full Price - £16.80
Sample Price - £16.80 (full size product)

3. Yves Rocher France - Hand Cream
    Full Price - £1.95
Sample Price - £1.95 (full size product)

4. Elegant Touch - Rapid Dry For Nails
    Full Price - £3.00
Sample Price - £3.00 (full size product)

5. Jelly Pong Pong - Lip Blush
    Full Price - £12.00
Sample Price - £12.00 (full size product)

Full box price - £12.95 (including p+p)
Full box worth - £36.75 meaning you gain £23.80

I think that the price gained on this box in terms of how much it is worth is really good however, I wasn't wowed by the products in this months box but I was intrigued by each product. I will post a review of each product within the  next month so keep your eyes peeled!

Also I have recently reviewed the London themed Glossybox and I am currently making my final tweeks. So keep checking back for that! If you follow me on Twitter (@Libby_Gillard) I'll tweet a link when it's up. I hope you anticipate my next blog, bye!

April Glossybox 2013 (From the Glossybox Summer Sale)

I have decided to write another Glossybox review as I recently purchased the April and July boxes from the summer sale.

Above is an image of the items I received in my April box.

Again for any of you who do not know what Glossybox is it's a monthly subscription service. Glossybox charges £10 (excluding £2.95 p+p) for a box containing 5 beauty samples of new and upcoming brands and current brands too. The samples range from skincare, perfume, beauty and haircare. If you're lucky sometimes you will receive a full size product! The most exciting part of Glossybox for me is the excitement of not knowing what you're going to get.

The April Glossybox was a cute floral print designed by Pearl Lowe for Glossybox. The theme was spring fever and inside the Glossymag was an exclusive interview with Pearl Lowe. Anyway time to review these products!

1. Firstly I received Richard Ward 'Optimiser Reviver'. This is a hairspray which gives your hair shine and tackles frizz. I would rate this product 4/10 as it was okay but I wasn't too impressed. The packaging, is not very exciting. I understand that it is an upcoming brand but the packaging is very unimpressive. As you can see a plain bottle with the yellow looking liquid and a cheap grey label. Secondly and most important factor, whether it actually works. I felt as though it gave my hair some sheen and I cannot judge the frizz control as my hair doesn't tend to get very frizzy. The scent was nice but not very strong at all. Overall I would not buy this product as it was not very exciting, I would rather buy a high end brand that I know works.

2. Secondly I received a Sun Sence 'daily face spf'. I was very disappointed to receive a small sample of sun cream. I appreciate that it is expensive but its something I would only buy if I needed it. Sadly I am not able to review this product as the British weather is rubbish and have not yet had the opportunity to use this. However I will write a small review of it when I do use it.

3. Thirdly I received a Yves Rocher 'Nutritive Vegetal - 24h comfort nourishing cream'. This is a 24 hour nourishing cream containing ash tree sap and macadamia oil. I would rate this cream 7/10. It has a nice light scent and is very nourishing and long lasting. I would recommend this cream however I would not buy it as I much prefer the Garnier skin match face creams.

4. Next I received a Etre Belle 'collagen and aloe vera hydro mask which is a material face mask with eye, nose and mouth holes. I was confused as to why Glossybox again messed up and sent me a face mask that makes your skin tighter when I'm only 17 years old; clearly a beauty profile is useless. I was dissapointed in receiving this product however, it made my skin feel very soft. I would rate this product 6/10 and would not buy it but this is mainly because it's not aimed at me.

5. Finally I received a Nip + Fab 'mango smoothie dry skin body butter'. Finally something I was impressed with in my April Glossybox! I am familiar with the Nip + Fab brand and really enjoy their products so was very pleased when seeing that there was a Nip + Fab product in my box. The packaging isn't too interesting but the product is. I really enjoyed this body butter. It made my skin feel nourished and smelt great as the mango scent wasn't too strong! I would definitely buy and recommend this product in the future.

Overall I wasn't too impressed with my April Glossybox. I love the Pearl Lowe packaging and will be keeping this box. However the products inside weren't too impressive only really like 1 out of 5 in the end it wasn't the best. I hoped my product reviews helped you. Thanks for reading!

Glossybox December 2012 Product Review

December was many months ago but it is the last glossybox I purchased and since I have started a blog I feel it is appropriate to do glossybox reviews so here we go..

Glossybox December 2012Above is an image showing the December 2012 glossybox.

For any of you who do not know what Glossybox is it's a monthly subscription service.

Anyway, on with the review...

LEMON by Mary Greenwell Eau de Parfum
1. Firstly I received I small sample 'Lemon' by Mary Greenwell , not the size as seen above. The full size of 50 ml costs £60 and I am sad to say I would never pay such a large amount for this product. This perfume is said to smell of lemons although I do not agree. I felt that the perfume smelt musky and I really am not a big fan. I gave the sample away to a member of family who liked it. I suppose this product is a matter of opinion. I like floral scents such as 'Daisy' by Marc Jacobs and I suppose 'Lemon' was simply not for me.

Magic Touch
2. Secondly I received Rituals 'Magic Touch' Cherry Blossom and Rice Milk whipped body cream. This was a full size sample of 70 ml pricing at £5. I am glad to say I really enjoyed this product! Magic Touch is a body cream but I used this simply as a hand cream as I suffer from eczema and my hands get very dry and I must say it really did work and had a 'magic touch' keeping my hands moisturised for a long time and soothing my eczema. Another bonus is that this product smells amazing! I am so sad that I have used this all up. I would look into purchasing more and would 100% recommend this product!

Nail Laquer
3. Next I received a Seche Nail varnish in a mousey brown shade. Glossybox provided a full size product here which is priced at around £10. I am not going to rave about this product as I didn't like the shade I was given. I am very pale and like colourful nail varnishes the brown shade simply did not compliment my skin tone. However, the nail lacquer was long lasting thick and wasn't chip friendly so in this sense I would recommend it. Overall though I will not be buying this product any time soon.

Colour Lipstick
4. In my Glossybox  I also received a Sleek lipstick in a deep red shade. I loved the colour but I had received a different lipstick in exactly the same shade in a previous Glossybox so this wasn't too exciting. Glosssybox again gave us a full size product here of 3.5 g priced at £4.99. The lipstick was reasonable as the durability was average it didn't smudge too easily and had a nice matte look to it. Overall the product was average, I won't be re-purchasing this product sadly.

Face wash - Sandalwood / Turmeric and Bergamot / Neem
5. Finally in my box was a ayurri 'Turmeric & Bergamot' facial wash. Again this was another full size product of 200 ml that is priced at £4.95. I was happy with this product as it made my skin clearer and made it feel nice smooth and soft. However the scent didn't appeal to me but all in all it is a good facial wash that lasts a long time (in terms of product size). I probably would not purchase this again as I would rather purchase something a little pricier that had a preferred scent. Although, I would recommend the product in terms of what it actually does.

6. Also included as a little extra was a Glossybox own brand blusher which can be seen in the first picture at the top of this post. I received this in a baby pink shade which isn't one I would choose but it looked nice and was simply an average blush.

Overall it is clear that I was not a big fan of this months Glossybox simply because I found the products boring or shades dull. However in other terms for full size products it was a very good box. Let me know what you thought of it in the comments and of the products in your box.

I have recently ordered the April and July 2013 boxes as they are on sale. Instead of £20 for 2 it's £12 for 2 excluding p+p. So look out for my blog on those boxes which will be up soon!

An Introduction

Hello to everybody of the internet. I am a new, yes new blogger and feel it is only appropriate to do a little introduction. My name is Libby and I'm 17 years old. I live in Wales and I'm currently in Sixth Form studying English Literature, Media Studies, Art, Psychology and Welsh Baccalaureate. Now I see that in writing it seems like a lot, a lot of stress that is! Now away with the boring bits! Okay maybe one more, why have I decided to start a blog? I have decided to begin a blog because I am constantly reading beauty and fashion blogs online (Zoella and SprinkleOfGlitter being my favourite bloggers) and thought I love reading them so much so why not write one! So here it goes and here I am writing one. I do hope this little introduction didn't bore you to much, now to get writing something a little more interesting!
